Meet Faye, founder and lead interior designer at House of Margot Contemporary, Timeless design studio. Artist and creative soul at heart and by qualification, Faye has always been captivated by the intersection of art, design, and architecture. With a deep passion for the history of architecture, she continually seeks to learn and understand how building methods, materials, and styles have evolved—informing her approach to creating spaces that are both timeless and innovative.

"I see art in everything—the shapes, colours, textures, and patterns all around us. To me, beauty exists in the most unexpected places, whether in nature, modern design, or historic styles."

At House of Margot, we believe that interior design is not just about how things look—it’s about how they make you feel. We often talk about interiors, but what’s not discussed enough is the ‘why’ behind our deep need to create beautiful spaces. It’s not just about the aesthetic; it’s about how the environment we inhabit shapes our mood, mindset, and overall well-being.

Our surroundings have a profound effect on us, often in ways we don’t even realise. It’s like a form of self-care—not through skincare or wellness routines—but by the energy and balance we create through our spaces. Thoughtfully designing or reworking a room can feel like therapy—it’s an expression of who we are, or who we want to become. Even small changes—like adding a fresh colour, introducing a new texture, or reorganising a room—can make us feel grounded, inspired, and reenergised. That sense of peace or excitement then ripples through other parts of life, fostering clarity, focus, and motivation.

This philosophy is at the heart of what I do as a designer. Yes, on the surface, we all want a beautiful home—but the deeper reason we feel the need to improve our spaces is that they directly impact our inner peace. When we feel truly at home, our surroundings calm our soul. When we love every inch of our space, it deeply inspires and fulfils us. To me, that’s therapy.

As House of Margot celebrates another anniversary, I reflect on the many diverse projects we've had the privilege to work on—from a 500-year-old home in the Surrey Hills to a brand new modern full-home redesign overlooking peaceful greenbelt fields in Kent. No two projects are ever the same, and that’s what excites me about my role as your designer.

At House of Margot, we specialise in creating interior design schemes for all kinds of properties. We love blending the old with the new—honouring the history and character of beautiful older buildings while breathing new life into them. For newer builds, we create spaces that reflect an evolving identity—ones that are layered and built upon for years to come. Every project is a unique opportunity to create something personal and meaningful.

This is what fuels my passion as a designer; not just making a space look beautiful, but creating an environment that enhances your life, uplifts your spirit, and leaves you feeling true happiness within your home. When your surroundings support you mentally and emotionally, it gives you the clarity and headspace to focus on all other aspects of your life. Imagine looking around your home and feeling at peace with every single detail—so much so that you never want to leave.

That’s what I do. I don’t just design spaces—I create experiences that help you align with your environment, leaving you with balance, and a deep sense of satisfaction.

The result? A home that becomes a sanctuary, empowering you to show up more fully in every part of your world.
